March of The Monoliths

Prior to its demolition in late 2015, I took a series of images around the Red Road Estate in Glasgow, while the remaining tower blocks were in a cocooned state, awaiting their eventual fate. There was an eerie silence across the estate, devoid of the residents who had left many months earlier. The writer, Martin Cathcart Froden, wrote a fantastic short story, inspired by the dystopian nature of these monoliths. You can read it here at ‘Glasgow Review of Books’:

I would also highly recommend Martin’s debut novel, ‘Devil Take The Hindmost’, available at all remaining high street booksellers.
